Frequently Asked Questions

What is Acupuncture?

Acupuncture is the use of fine needles inserted to stimulate different points in the body, along the channels called "meridians", to bring about a balancing effect of the body's energy called "qi" (pronounced "chi").  The stimulation of these points assists the body to restore health.

Is Acupuncture Painful?

No. The needles are so thin that minimal discomfort is felt, although some areas of the body are more sensitive than others.

How Long is a Treatment Session?

The first consultation lasts a minimum of one hour.  Subsequent treatments last anywhere from 30 - 45 minutes.  The needles stay in place for about 15 - 20 minutes.

Will Acupuncture Interfere with my Current Medication?
